The Luxire MTM gurkha trousers in use.

Those gurkhas I ordered from turned out a little more casual than expected. The dirty beige colour of the fabric, the fact that it’s rather soft instead of stiff despite its weight, and a slightly wider leg – those things make those trouser clash a bit with my tailored jackets.

So I’m trying to find different uses for them. They’re cool-looking and super comfortable, so I think when it gets colder, I’m going to wear them with my military greatcoat. For now though, a leather jacket works fine.

I also think I might order another pair of gurkhas, but made to be worn with tailoring. Perhaps in flannel, or a stiffer cotton; the leg will be a little slimmer too.

For now, it’s actually nice to have a pair of casual trousers with something that sets them apart.
